About Truly Tasmanian

Apart from being delicious, our Tasmanian extra virgin olive oil has amongst the world's highest proportion (81-83%) of oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated fat. In layperson's terms, that means very low levels of saturated fat.  It's really good for you!
Every drop of our 100% pure extra virgin olive oil comes from fruit grown
organically by our family and dedicated farming friends in the fertile soils of Tasmania.  We cultivate the land and tend the trees using only traditional ecologically sustainable methods.  We're as close to organic as you can be without getting the official certification. At the moment, we spend any spare funds on more trees, not the paperwork for certification, but one day...
Our olives are picked late.  We cold-press them to ensure the highest level of healthy antioxidants which means maximum flavour.  We don't blend for blandness like supermarket oil, but press each olive variety separately for greater variety of flavours. The results are robust Italian-style oils with a peppery finish and terrific flavour punch. Truly Tasmanian oil is great for both fine cooking and as a premium salad dressing. You can really taste the difference.
The oil we have ready at the moment is 100% Frantoio, a traditional Tuscan olive. It's peppery and is great on pasta, pizza and even toast! We use it instead of butter.
We know our oil is expensive. We also know its very good value.
We are proud of its quality and are happy to provide you with a guarantee.  If any oil purchased from our website does not meet your expectations when you taste it, we will be happy to provide you with a replacement bottle of another of our varieties.  We know our oil is great oil.
From the end of July, after we've harvested, we'll have limited amounts of five or six ( if the drought breaks) different varieties of oil to offer, including the highly aromatic French Verdale. Sign up for our monthly blogpost and you'll be the first to know as each one becomes available.  Ripening is an inexact science but we expect to be able to list a different variety each month.  You can be the first to order and try each one!
Each variety of oil has a slightly different flavour and if you'd like to know exactly which one will best suit your needs and tastebuds, ring Glenys on 0411254255 and she'll give you the good oil!
